Health Indicators for Mbeere South and Mbeere North are worse within the County in comparative data analysis from the Health Information reports. Access to health facilities and services is low with long distances and difficulty terrain with poorly maintained earth roads. The health indicators point at a community of low socio-economic status, with poor access to all services including roads, piped water, poor sanitation and high poverty levels. In Makima market the headquarter of Makima Ward there is no piped water and the community walk many kilometers to the Thiba River on Donkeys, Bicycles, Oxen Carts and other local methods. There is very low development in general at Makima Ward hence marginalized community. This Medical Centre is the first Health facility with comprehensive essential health services with in patient and maternity services, with a dedicated Medical Doctor since Kenyan Independence in 1963.

Tumaini Brighten Medical Centre is the first project of Tumaini Brighten Holdings Limited. The company was registered as a private limited company on 20th April 2018 to carry out Medical services programme. Its registered office is plot number one Gategi Market, Mwea ward, Mbeere South, Embu County in Kenya.

Embu general hospital is the main referral hospital (at Kirimari Ward) in Embu County. Sub County hospitals exist at Runyenjes (Central Ward), Siakago (Nthawa Ward) and Ishiara (Evurore Ward).
Health centres, dispensaries and clinics spread across the county. Private health institutions and clinics exist across the County. There is no level four hospitals in Mbeere South Sub County. The Sub County occupies a very large surface area in terms of land mass (Almost 50% of the size of the County). See below distribution of health facilities in the County. Note that more health facilities of all levels of care are based in the other three Sub- Counties. Nobody can give good reasons of that skewed development in the sector, which is same with the other sectors.

Reception is Finally Complete and ready to accept new patients. The small town Makima now had their joy confirmed after medical services were brought nearer to their Homes. The hospital Management had finally fullfilled their promise to bring Affordable Medical Services for the community.
The Hospital in Genral is finally inspected by the relevant government Agencies and it is authorised to continue with its operation as NHIF is engaged in order to allow the Hospital to take in patient with the NHIF card.
